Architects of Release
The human form rendered as an instrument of liberation — rooted in the power of mind over obstacles.
Creator of AKAKAMBOLISM — a visual language founded in 1997 at Auchi Polytechnic, School of Art & Design, Edo State, Nigeria, derived from AKAKAMBOKA: Redefinition of Creativity.
I am Christopher Ebiokubo Ayaoge, creator of AKAKAMBOLISM — a visual language founded in 1997 at Auchi Polytechnic, School of Art & Design, Edo State, Nigeria, derived from AKAKAMBOKA: Redefinition of Creativity.
AKAKAMBOLISM is Crystalization Cerebral Conceptualization — a process where paints, pigmentation, pen and ink meet like shards of broken glass, creating shattered mirror-like splinters that dazzle the eye and transcend from the two-dimensional surface into three-dimensional portals.
Whether executed in oil, pastel, charcoal, watercolour, coffee, beads or ink, my language is constructed from fractured crystalline lines, geometric folds and African motifs. Circles, triangles, graffiti, hieroglyphic encryptions, cowries, symbols and scrolls collide within trademark border designs. At every edge, the surface folds, opening portals beyond the canvas.
Through this practice, I capture the cultural, spiritual and mundane aspects of human existence. My work explores the human form as “Architects of Release” — rooted in the power of mind over obstacles. Each piece documents Mama Viktoria Golden Regalia Traditional Heritage — where memory and imagination combine into reality.
Motivated by Nigeria’s multicultural heritage, my art refuses limitation and invites profound emotional attachment — revealing a bond of appreciating the matrix of simplicity within complexity, inside the inquisitive mind of the viewer.

The human form rendered as an instrument of liberation — rooted in the power of mind over obstacles.
Each piece documents a traditional heritage where memory and imagination combine into reality.
A bond of appreciation — the matrix of simplicity held inside complexity, within the viewer’s inquisitive mind.
AKAKAMBOLISM grew from academic study into a distinct creative philosophy — a redefinition of what creativity itself can be.
Auchi Polytechnic’s School of Art & Design provided the seedbed. From there the practice expanded across painting, drawing, mixed media and low-relief sculptural miniature — always returning to the fractured crystal.
At Auchi Polytechnic, School of Art & Design, Edo State, Nigeria — derived from AKAKAMBOKA: Redefinition of Creativity.
The core process is defined: fractured lines, geometric folds and African motifs meeting as shards of broken glass.
At every edge the surface folds, opening portals beyond the canvas — the flat plane becomes a door.
The language refuses limitation and invites profound emotional attachment in the inquisitive mind of the viewer.
A deliberately unlimited material vocabulary, folded into a single coherent visual language.
